We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer for a reputable Social impact led conservation organization that is pioneering an innovative way of making markets and conservation work together. Joining the team at a pivotal moment of their growth and development, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work directly with the CEO and Board to guide the strategic vision and enhance its financial capabilities including stakeholder engagement . The CFO will provide day-to-day management and strategic oversight for the financial
and administrative operations of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the role played by the Finance Team in reviewing and supervising the preparation of all Budgets versus Actual reports on a monthly, quarterly ns annual basis to ensure maximum utilization of budgeted amounts and to provide recommendations for realignments or no cost-extensions as required
- Approving all donor financial reports in respect to accounting, legal and contractual requirements prior to submission.
- Work with the technical teams to ensure all sub-grants are compliant with donor regulations, including the submission of timely and accurate financial reports to donors.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs. Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
- Respond to complex inquiries regarding contractual obligation and revisions.
- Coordinate orientation and refresher training for staff to ensure they are aware of their roles and responsibilities in the area of budgeting and grant management and are updated with the procedures Partners develops to be in compliance with regulations.
- Developing schedules and performing or supervising the completion of company internal control audits, and initiating actions necessary to correct internal control weaknesses
- Facilitating and coordinating external, internal, donor or government audits.
- Oversee the timely preparation, review and approval of all monthly bank account and cash reconciliations.
- Supervise Transfer Requests and ensure that appropriate balances are maintained to facilitate implementation of projects.
Must Have
- MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification in Sustainable Finance or related.
- Chartered Accountant with valid membership status
- Over 10 years working experience with at least 5 years in a CFO or similar position preferably in a major international organization/NGO.
- Experience working with multinational organizations involved in conservation/social impact investing initiatives.
- A thorough knowledge of, and dexterity with, accounting software (ACCPAC) will be an added advantage)
