We are looking for a highly skilled Legal Officer to join one of our top-tier clients in FMCG sector in Cameroon. Your principal role will be to Contribute to implementing legal monitoring procedures and management of legal acts, litigation and the company's assets.
Missions
- Define and validate the Company's insurance policy and monitor the execution of related contracts;
- Develop legal documents relating to the management of the Company's assets;
- Ensure regulatory monitoring and monitoring of land and environmental procedures;
- Monitor pre-litigation and litigation documents: Management of reports with external firms, and updating of quarterly report files for the head office;
- Provide legal secretarial services;
- Ensure the recovery of debts;
- Special assistance to the HR Department and management of corporate ethics actions in accordance with the rules of Client's Policy (General compliance review - internal regulations, contracts, preventive administrative procedures, disciplinary procedures; training, record keeping, awareness raising).
Other responsibilities
- Study in collaboration with the Top Management the insurance coverage;
- Propose the terms of reference for the consultation of insurers;
- Ensure the monitoring of insurance contracts & monitor reimbursements of health insurance costs;
- Participate in the drafting of commercial partnership contracts;
- Develop service provision or supply purchase contracts & monitor the execution of contracts and Archive all contracts;
- Manage the legal aspect of the assets of the group's companies in Cameroon;
- Develop and implement the regulatory and legal monitoring system;
- Prepare board of directors and AGM meetings; attend BOD meetings; and write the minutes of the meetings, complete all formalities and archive the minutes;
- Ensure compliance with internal and external standards (legal compliance);
- Provide awareness-raising activities on the various risks and responsibilities of the stakeholders;
Profile and Skills required
o Bac+4/5 in Business Law or equivalent diploma;
o At least eight (08) years of professional experience in similar role;
o Mastery of international law, insurance law, intellectual property law & commercial law
o Good knowledge of regulatory compliance and labor law
o Practical and theoretical knowledge of environmental & product compliance law
o Have notions of human resources management and administration;
o Master the legal and tax texts in Cameroon and be able to adapt to changes on it;
o Perfectly bilingual – English & French (written and spoken).
