ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Position Summary

As an Electrical Project Manager, your roles and responsibilities are specialized within the field of electrical engineering and construction. In essence, as an Electrical Project Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects, ensuring they meet technical requirements, quality standards while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities 

1.Project Planning and Initiation:

   - Define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of electrical projects.

   - Conduct feasibility studies and assess project requirements.

   - Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with stakeholders.

2. Resource Management:

   - Allocate resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials effectively.

   - Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources.

   - Manage subcontractors and vendors involved in electrical installations and services.

3. Team Leadership and Management:

   - Build and lead a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and support staff.

   - Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise.

   - Provide guidance, motivation, and support to ensure team cohesion and performance.

  - Provide training to team for Electrical systems & best international maintenance practises.

4. Electrical Design and Engineering:

   - Oversee the electrical design process, including power distribution, lighting, wiring, and control systems.

   - Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

   - Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and calculations.

 -   Should possess knowledge about (HT) High tension & LT (Low tension) electricity substations. Along with substation exposure of 11KA & high-speed engines.

- Expected to have detailed information regarding fault finding, troubleshooting, RCA (root cause analysis) for PLC, AC & DC drives with Scada & ladder logic.

5. Project Execution and Control:

   - Monitor project progress against milestones, schedules, and budgets.

   - Implement project controls to track costs, expenditures, and resource utilization.

   - Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs effectively.

6. Quality Assurance and Safety:

   - Establish and enforce quality assurance processes for electrical installations and services.

   - Conduct inspections and testing to verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

   - Implement and oversee safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

7. Communication and Stakeholder Management:

   - Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

   - Provide updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.

   - Address stakeholder concerns and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

8. Documentation and Reporting:

   - Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, reports, contracts, and correspondence.

   - Prepare and present progress reports, financial reports, and other project documentation as required.

- Implementation of energy efficient systems, procedures & auding same for cost effectiveness.

9. Risk Management:

   - Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

   - Monitor and manage risks throughout the project to minimize impact on project objectives.

   - Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen circumstances.

10. Commissioning and Handover:

    - Coordinate commissioning activities to ensure proper functioning of electrical systems.

    - Facilitate project handover, including documentation, training, and support.

    - Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future project execution.

- Should have exposure of dealing with government delegates for obtaining permissions & licences.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's Degree (Essential): A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), electronics engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in process industry.
  • Strong Mathematical and Physics Foundation, Circuit Design and Analysis, Power Systems Knowledge and Control Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Engineering Software and Tools.
  • High attention to detail and team management.
