Overview :

Our client is looking for an experienced Tax Manager with a strong background in tax auditing and compliance, ideally from a top audit firm. The role involves leading tax planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing audits, and advising on tax strategies to support business decisions.

 Job summary :

 His/her principal role will be to manage and oversee all tax-related activities for the company in Cameroon, ensuring full compliance with local and international tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and supporting business operations with sound fiscal advice.

Main duties :

The Tax Manager coordinates tax audits and inspections, ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns, monitors legislative changes, and trains the finance team on tax matters. They also uphold internal controls and corporate governance standards in all tax-related activities.

1. Tax Compliance & Reporting

·       Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all statutory tax returns (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, NSIF,  etc.).

·       Maintain compliance with Cameroonian tax laws and regulations.

·       Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors during audits and inspections.

 2. Tax Planning & Optimization

·       Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies aligned with business goals.

·       Identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.

·       Advise management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

 3. Tax Risk Management

·       Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.

·       Maintain proper documentation to support tax positions and defend against audits.

·       Manage tax disputes and litigation in collaboration with legal advisors.

 4. Internal Collaboration

·       Work closely with accounting, HR, legal, and operations teams to ensure tax compliance across all departments.

·       Provide training and guidance to finance staff on tax matters

·       Drive efficiency all controls & inspection in the company, in collaboration with the concerned functions.

 5. Strategic Support

·       Support mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities from a tax perspective.

·       Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes with tax-related inputs.

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience required :

·       Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Legal, Taxation, or related field.

·       Professional certification in taxation (e.g. DESS, CPA, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.

·       Minimum 10 years of proven experience in tax management, preferably in FMCG or multinational companies.

·       Experience with Cameroonian tax laws and international tax frameworks.

·       Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a must.

·       Demonstrates a high level of integrity in all taxation activities, ensuring transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to compliance and ethical standards

·       Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

·       Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex workflows.

·       Proven ability to respect deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time.

·       Demonstrated availability and responsiveness to business needs.

·       Strong sense of rigor in applying tax rules and maintaining documentation and attention to detail.

·       High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
